High-carbon silicon Introduction:

 

     High-carbon silicon is a new type of high-efficiency silicon-carbon alloy material processed by high-purity carbon powder, silicon metal powder and low-sulfur and low-nitrogen carbon materials through a special process. High-carbon silicon has the characteristics of high density, high purity, no pollution to molten steel after use, high recovery rate, stable effect, etc. It can replace part of iron silicon, silicon carbide, carburizing agent, reduce the amount of deoxidizer, easy to operate, and does not increase equipment .

High-carbon silicon Application:

              

     1. Electrical applications of high-carbon silicon: heating elements such as silicon carbide rods (applicable to all kinds of electric furnaces operating at 1100~1500°C), non-linear resistance elements, and various lightning rod plates. Used for heating elements, non-linear resistance elements and high semiconductor materials.

     2. Chemical application of high-carbon silicon: silicon carbide decomposes in molten steel, and reacts with oxygen and metal oxides in molten steel to form carbon monoxide and silicon slag. This usually uses low purity silicon carbide to reduce costs. It can also be used as a raw material for the production of silicon tetrachloride. Therefore, it can be used as a purifying agent for smelting steel, that is, a deoxidizer for steelmaking and a structure improver for cast iron.

     3. High carbon silicon as abrasive: mainly due to the high hardness, chemical stability and toughness of high carbon silicon. Therefore, high-carbon silicon can be used to manufacture hard alloy abrasive tools, coated abrasive tools and free abrasive tools, processing glass, ceramics, cast iron and some non-ferrous metals, hard alloy, stone, titanium alloy, high-speed steel tools and grinding wheels.

     4. High-carbon silicon as a refractory and corrosion-resistant material: mainly because high-carbon silicon has a high melting point (decomposition), chemical inertness and resistance to heat and vibration. Therefore, high-carbon silicon can be used as a grinding tool. Ceramic products are fired into kiln sheds and gravel, crucibles, aluminum reduction cell lines, silicon carbide bricks for vertical distillation furnaces in the zinc smelting industry, small pieces of charge and other silicon carbide ceramics product.
