Ferro Silicon Introduction:

     Ferro Silicon :

     Ferrosilicon is an iron alloy composed of iron and silicon. Ferrosilicon is a ferrosilicon alloy, which is made by fusing coke, steel slag and quartz (or silicon dioxide) in an electric furnace. Since silicon and oxygen are easily synthesized in silicon dioxide, iron-silicon is often used as a deoxidizer in the steelmaking process. At the same time, since SiO 2 generates a lot of heat, it is also beneficial to increase the temperature of molten steel while deoxidizing. At the same time, iron-silicon can also be used as an additive of alloying elements, and is widely used in low-alloy structural steel, spring steel, bearing steel, heat-resistant steel and silicon steel. Ferrous silicon is commonly used as a reducing agent in ferroalloy production and chemical industry.

     FerroSilicon is a kind of ferroalloy which is composed of iron and silicon. FerroSilicon is made by electric furnace with the raw materials coke, quartz (or silica) and iron scrap. Due to the silicon and oxygen are easily compound into SiO2, so ferro silicon is often used as deoxidizer in steelmaking.

Ferro Silicon Aapplication:    

     (1) Used as an oxidant and alloy in the steelmaking industry.

     (2) Used as pollen and nodular agent in cast iron industry

     (3) Used as a reducing agent in the production of ferroalloys.

     (4) Use in other fields. Ground or small iron and silicon powder can be used as a suspension table in the mineral processing industry. It can be used as electrode coating in electrode manufacturing. High-iron silicon can be used to manufacture silicon and other products in the chemical industry.
